TRIBOLOGIA is a scientific bimonthly with a domestic and foreign scope, which is published by SIMPRESS Publishing House in cooperation with Polish Tribology Society and the Institute for Sustainable Technologies – National Research Institute in Radom. The journal has been published since 1969. It is the only national periodical devoted entirely scientific and technical problems of friction, wear, and lubrication, which is associated with probing a wide range of scientific disciplines, engineering, the construction and operation of machines, materials science, diagnostics, and reliability. These are the issues of the highest economic importance, because these subjects of tribology are of great significance for engineers. There is also a link to the basic sciences: physics, chemistry, and computer science. This corresponds to the European trend of the integration of different areas of sciences for obtaining synergies in solving technical problems. TRIBOLOGIA also publishes the results of research carried out for academic qualifications (doctoral and postdoctoral). Articles presented in the journal are also important in the procedures for obtaining the title of professor. Tribology publications include the results of research projects financed by the national budget, EU funds, and industry. TRIBOLOGIA’s professional level is very positively rated among international journals by many experts. The journal has been listed in collections of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education for many years, as well as in the databases SCOPUS, Baz Tech, and Index Copernicus. The editors of the journal, in their efforts to support the high level of publishing, cooperate with the Scientific Board, which consists of a number of recognized foreign scholars, including Tribology Gold Medal winners. The Tribology Council is a prestigious group of only a few dozen members from around the world, and the Tribology Gold Medal is the highest honour in tribology.
